For JPEG, the engine optimizes image quality and can pad the file to the requested byte count when the encoded image fits below the target. Very small targets may require lower quality. Exact size cannot be guaranteed for every image/format.

Free Signature Resizer Online for Forms and Applications

One Resizer is an online signature resizer that helps you crop, resize and prepare a scanned or photographed handwritten signature for an online application. Use the controls to set the required width and height, choose pixels (PX), centimetres (CM), millimetres (MM) or inches (IN), and enter a target file size in KB or MB when your form specifies one. This signature resize tool works with JPEG/JPG, PNG and WebP images supported by your browser.

How to resize a signature online

  1. Upload your signature: choose a clear JPG, JPEG, PNG or WebP image, or drag it into the upload area.
  2. Crop the signature: select the area you want to keep and remove unnecessary blank paper around the handwriting. You can also use the full image.
  3. Set dimensions: choose PX, CM, MM or IN, enter the required width and height, and set DPI when using physical units.
  4. Choose the file size: enter a target such as 10 KB, 20 KB, 25 KB, 40 KB, 50 KB or another size allowed by the form. Presets fill the target field for convenience.
  5. Select format and quality: choose Keep Original Format, JPEG, PNG or WebP. The quality control applies to JPEG and WebP output; PNG is lossless.
  6. Resize and verify: press Resize Signature, check the output dimensions, actual file size and target status, then download the result.

Resize signature to 10 KB, 20 KB, 25 KB, 40 KB or 50 KB

Some online forms set a maximum signature file size, while others specify both a minimum and a maximum. To resize a signature to 20 KB or another target, enter the number in the Exact Target File Size field and select KB. You can also use a quick preset. After processing, check the reported actual output size and target status rather than assuming the target was met.

The achievable file size depends on image dimensions, handwritten detail, format and encoding quality. JPEG output attempts to encode below the requested byte count and may add trailing bytes when the encoded file is smaller, allowing the file to reach the requested byte count without changing the decoded image. This method is format-specific and is not a guarantee for every image or output format. If the tool reports that a target was not reached, try a different dimension, format or quality setting.

Signature image size, pixels and DPI explained

Pixel dimensions describe the image's width and height in pixels. CM, MM and IN describe physical dimensions; this tool converts those values to pixels using the selected DPI. Keep Maintain Proportional Aspect Ratio enabled in most cases so the signature does not look stretched. There is no single signature size that is correct for every exam, government portal, university, bank or online application. Always follow the current instructions shown by the receiving website, including its required dimensions, file format, file-size range and background rules.

Signature crop and image format options

The crop step helps remove excess blank margins around the signature before you resize it. Keep the complete handwriting inside the crop selection so that the beginning or end of the signature is not cut off. Cropping changes which part of the image is retained; resizing changes its dimensions. Neither action automatically removes a paper background or guarantees that a receiving portal will accept the file.

  • JPEG/JPG: commonly used for compact image files; it does not support transparent backgrounds.
  • PNG: lossless and supports transparency. The quality slider may not affect PNG file size.
  • WebP: can provide compact files, but check whether the receiving application accepts WebP.
  • Keep Original Format: retains the supported source format where possible.

How the signature resizer works

After upload, the tool displays the source image and lets you crop it. The resize control panel then converts the dimensions you enter into output pixel dimensions, applies the selected format and quality settings, and prepares a preview. After you press Resize Signature, the result panel reports the output dimensions, actual file size, format and target-size status. Download only after reviewing these details.

Privacy: is my signature uploaded to a server?

The selected image is processed in your browser by this tool and is not sent to One Resizer's image-processing server by the resizing workflow. The tool uses browser-side JavaScript and the Canvas API. Other website services, such as hosting, analytics, advertising or WordPress plugins, may make separate network requests according to their own settings and policies. For sensitive documents, use a trusted device and avoid sharing downloaded files publicly.

Troubleshooting signature resizing

  • The signature looks cropped: reset the crop and include the full handwriting inside the selection.
  • The file is still too large: check the dimensions, try JPEG or WebP if accepted, or adjust quality gradually.
  • The target KB was not reached: some targets are not feasible for every image and format; try a different size or format and check the result status.
  • The signature looks stretched: keep the aspect-ratio option enabled unless the form specifically requires different proportions.
  • The quality slider has no effect: PNG is lossless and may not respond to the JPEG/WebP quality control.
  • The download does not start: resize the image first, then use the download button and check your browser's download permissions.

Important: One Resizer is an independent utility and is not affiliated with any exam authority, government department, bank, university or recruitment board. Check the official form instructions before submitting a resized signature.

Signature Resizer FAQs

How can I resize my signature online?

Upload your signature, crop unnecessary margins, set the required dimensions and optional KB target, choose an accepted format, then resize and download after checking the result.

Can I resize a signature to 20 KB or 50 KB?

Yes. Enter 20 or 50 in the target field and select KB. Check the actual output size and target status after processing; a match is not possible for every image and format.

Which signature image formats are supported?

The tool supports JPEG/JPG, PNG and WebP when supported by your browser. Confirm which formats the receiving application accepts.

Can I crop my signature before resizing?

Yes. Use the crop panel to select the signature area and remove excess blank margins. Keep all handwriting inside the selected area.

Does the tool upload or store my signature?

The resizing workflow processes the selected image in your browser and does not send it to One Resizer's image-processing server. Other website services may operate separately.

What signature dimensions should I use for an exam or online form?

Requirements vary by exam, institution and portal. Use the dimensions, DPI, file-size range and accepted format listed in the current official instructions.

Why is my signature file size not exactly the target KB?

Output size depends on dimensions, image detail, format and quality. Try another dimension or supported format, then verify the actual size shown by the tool.
